We investigate the algorithmic core of a PHP-based line-breaking engine that transforms a sequence of word widths into optimally justified text. The implementation employs a quadratic-time dynamic programming routine that preserves a strict height-balanced invariant over the DP table, ensuring optimality of the badness metric. We formally prove that the recurrence yields a globally minimal total badness and that the algorithm maintains a monotonic DP frontier. Empirical evaluation on an AMD EPYC 9V45 96-Core processor (1 physical core, 2 logical threads) yields a mean latency of 35 956 µss and a throughput of 27 812 ops/s over 30 iterations.
